We have been thinking of several routes that will definitely help you discovering and wholly understanding the appeal of Terra d'Otranto.
From the Resort Hotel Tenuta Centoporte going through the most exciting places of the salentino culture and folklore.

Towards Finisterrae

Reaching Santa Maria di Leuca is always a time of introspective and spiritual research; as to get to the end of the earth, land of boundaries where two different seas reach each other in Salento.
The route that we propose goes through places of specific beauty, tied to the history and salentino traditions and with the neverending astonishing surroundings of the Adriatic sea whose view can be enjoyed along all the route from the beginning to the end.

The route starts from the Tenuta Centoporte , reaches Otranto the porta d’Oriente and Porto Badisco, land of amazing places where you can taste sea urchins opened by the local fishers. By proceeding down South, you will go throughSanta Cesarea Terme beautiful thermal place and then Castro, Roman city with a marvelous emerald green sea; further down South you will go through Andrano and Tricase and finally the beautiful Leuca, with its pretty villas embedded to the old aristocracy.

Towards Gallipoli

In this second route we want you to discover the marvel of the places in the hinterland of Salento that are still tied to the Hellenic culture (the dialect spoken in this area is called “grico” very similar to the ancient “Greek”). Melpignano, Castrignano, Corigliano, Calimera, are just some of the towns of this area, also known for the “Taranta” traditional folklore, where many tourists and local people come to every year, and that is usually celebrated in August in the town of Melpignano.

The route travels through the town of Maglie, a smiling shopping town centre in the middle of Salento, where you can visit fine baroque churches, then ending up in Gallipoli, ancient Roman town and important Ionian tourist central core.
